Story - Tôkyô Arc

It is when the whole story begins, when Kenshin Himura, aka the Hitokiri Battôsai arrives as a wanderer in Tôkyô. He meets Kaoru and even though she knows that he is the legendary man slayer, she recognizes his good heart and will to protect people with his vow of never killing anyone again. so she invites him to stay at her dôjo, the Kamiya dôjô. Their adventures begin and they meet Yahiko Myôjin, an ex-thief, repenting who becomes the student of Kaoru in Kenjutsu. They later meet Sanosuké Sagara, a mercenary who also decides to change life upon meeting Kenshin. The group will be know as the "Kenshingumi". Yet, they welcome a fifth person in Mégumi Takani, an aspiring doctor whom they rescue from Kanryû Takéda and the Oniwabanshû led by Aoshi Shinomori who forced her to make opium.

In this arc, we discover the characters through their adventures and ongoing will of Kenshin to maintain his vow of protecting people with his sword but not kill, and the will of his friends to help him in this task. Most chapters or episodes are independent. We get to appreciate the characters with their strength and weaknesses.
